Helen Milligan, Executive Director
Helen Milligan has been with Highland Court Memory Care going on four years. Helen started here as a med-tech, then moved on to become Resident Care Manager. She was then named Executive Director in July 2019. Helen has a long history of working in healthcare. She was a volunteer FF/EMT with East Jefferson for five years and continues as a volunteer for the American Red Cross as a CPR instructor. Helen enjoys her career in long-term care and making a difference by caring for and serving her community.
Denise Pitts, Business Office Manager
Denise is the proud mother of a son and daughter, and an even prouder grandmother of 8 grandchildren, all of which reside in Minnesota. In her time away from work, Denise is actively involved in her church, enjoys hiking, long walks and traveling. Born in Bremerton, Washington, Denise was raised in a military family who traveled extensively until her father’s retirement. Denise joined the US Marine Corps out of high school where her career began in the administration and accounting fields. Since leaving the Marines to start her family, she applied the skills she gained working her way from basic administration, human resources, and general bookkeeping to leadership positions in business and office management. Denise recently returned to Washington where she applies many of the skills she has gleaned throughout her career at Highland Court.
Kevin Brooks, Maintenance Director
Kevin first came to the Olympic Peninsula when he was 14 years old. He found the great outdoors here to be a place of beauty and awe. His passions are gems and minerals and travels all over Washington, Oregon, and Colorado where he and his wife rockhound, prospect, and go metal detecting. Other hobbies include drawing and woodworking. He was raised by his grandmother and has come to find a fondness for the elderly and loves working alongside them and in the assisted living communities. Kevin has over 30 years of experience in the maintenance and healthcare related environment. Much of his knowledge in the building and maintenance trade comes from serving in the US Coast Guard where he was fortunate enough to have great mentors who showed him the proper way to repair and maintain equipment. Kevin says, Highland Court is a great place to showcase his skills, help the staff, and help elderly family and friends. We couldn’t agree more!
Bill Graham, Executive Chef
Bill has around 40 years of experience in the restaurant business, from mom-and-pop restaurants to five-star fine dining. He is a certified working chef through the American Culinary Federation. He enjoys playing competitive darts, boating, fishing and camping. Bill accepted a position at an assisted living community to get out the restaurant rat race and fell in love with working with the elderly population. He transitioned to Highland Court Memory Care and both the residents and staff love him dearly.
Ashley Keeler-Reis, Nurse Consultant
Ashley Keeler-Reis joined our care team in December 2020. She was born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula and could not imagine living anywhere else. Ashley moved to Port Angeles with her husband to raise their two sons and to attend nursing school at Peninsula College, graduating in 2012. She has spent her career in nursing caring for the geriatric population of Port Angeles and Sequim, working in skilled and assisted living communities. During these experiences she gained a passion for dementia care and assisting residents and their families living with this disease. Ashley enjoys the family environment of Highland Court Memory Care and strives to provide the best nursing care and quality of life for our elderly community.
Angela Baker, Activity Director
Angela grew up with a large family; she was the only daughter of 9 siblings! Growing up on a farm with a little of everything (chickens, a pig, a horse, rabbits), she knows the value of hard work and family ties. She has always loved people. In 2011, Angela dove into caregiving to learn how to take care of her oldest brother, Kevin, who is quadriplegic. She had additional opportunities to take care of her family, dedicating over nine years to caregiving. Her commitment to serving others also lead her to a pharmaceutical career. In her spare time, Angela loves to create. From gardening, to furniture building/ refurbishing, painting, sewing, crocheting, knitting, you name it, and she has likely dabbled in it! Thus, the Activity Director role at Highland Court felt like a personal calling. Her goal is to bring out the very best in each resident. She seeks out and excels at turning frowns to smiles and tears to giggles. She is eager to learn and grow alongside the Highland Court family.
